U.S. Consulate General Surabaya paved the way for UMSurabaya students through the Internship Program and the Scholarship.

In an enthusiastic event at
UMSurabaya, students and young professionals gathered in “ConGen Talks” to gain
insights into a wide range of educational opportunities abroad and opportunities
to gain experience. ConGen Talks encompassed two main components, namely
Foreign National Student Intern Program (FNSIP) and Young Southeast Asian
Leaders Initiative (YSEALI).
This event was attended by a number of UMSurabaya lecturers
and students on Tuesday, 22 August 2023 at the 13th floor Auditorium, At-Tauhid
Tower, UMSurabaya.
Internship programs have become a popular pathway for many
individuals seeking to gain practical experience in a work environment and
expand their network of international. The Foreign National Student Intern
Program (FNSIP) is a program for students who want to do internships at the U.S
Consulate Surabaya. In the first session, the participants listened to the
presentation given by Human Resources Staff, U.S Consulate General Surabaya,
Rizqi N. Fajria. She explained about the benefits of the internship program,
admission criteria, and the application process. The participants also had the opportunity
to ask questions directly to the presenters, to gain in-depth insight into
internship opportunities in various divisions.
The next session is related to the Young Southeast Asian
Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) program which is available for students who wish to
take part in short course programs abroad. Cultural Affairs Assistant, U.S
Consulate General Surabaya, Puguh Budi Susetiyo, spoke about the application
requirements, deadlines and benefits provided by each program. A panel
discussion spotlighting the experiences of previous scholarship recipients
provided a tangible picture of how scholarship programs can transform students'
lives.
This event provided a valuable opportunity for participants
to interact directly with consulate representatives. Participants left the
event with valuable information, inspiration to pursue international education
opportunities, and the belief that both programs hold promise for their
academic and professional development.

offer and scholarship information, U.S. The Consulate General has made a real
contribution in advancing Indonesian education. It is hoped that this event
will motivate more individuals to pursue educational opportunities and
cross-border cooperation.
