UMSurabaya signs MoU with Kyungdong University, South Korea

Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UMSurabaya) signed a cooperation agreement with Kyundong University, one of the leading universities in South Korea. The signing of this agreement took place on Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Yogyakarta on Thursday, 08 June 2023.

 

The MoU aims to establish a long-term partnership between the two universities, focusing on various areas of mutual interest, including faculty and student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and curriculum development. This collaboration is expected to provide students and faculty members with invaluable opportunities to broaden their horizons and gain a global perspective.

 

Prof. Dr. John Lee, President of Kyundong University welcomed this collaboration. he explained "Kyundong University is very excited about establishing a partnership with Muhammadiyah Higher Education. We believe that this collaboration will enrich the academic experience of students and lecturers at both institutions, as well as generate innovation and new knowledge in collaboration between Indonesia and South Korea".

 

Pramudana Ihsan, Head of International Office and Partnership UMSurabaya, also stated "We firmly believe that this collaboration will not only enrich our academic programs but also pave the way for groundbreaking research collaborations. Together, we can tackle global challenges and create a positive impact on society."

 

Moreover, the MoU emphasizes the importance of student mobility. It will enable students from both universities to participate in exchange programs, allowing them to experience different academic environments, cultures, and perspectives. Such experiences are invaluable for nurturing global citizens and preparing them for the challenges of the 21st century.

 

The signing of the MoU marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for both universities. It reflects their shared vision of promoting internationalization and global engagement in higher education.
